BIO

Contextually my work revolves around my own experiences from year to year, it varies in how personal my work becomes depending on how relative I feel the topic is to me at that point. For my second year at university, I explored the theory of “Dissimulation”, how we use opposite emotions to conceal our true emotions and feelings. Currently, I am studying how my involvement throughout childhood and early adulthood in the motorcycle culture has shaped my own masculinity, identifying stereotypes and comparing them to myself whilst reliving my past through paintings and old pictures.

my work continues to evolve with new and unique methods using Airbrush and BIC Biro, leading an equally unique and interesting line of enquiry.

For the future of my art career I want to move onto being self employed, following in my grandfathers footsteps owning my own business in custom sprays on motorcycles and cars.

Work Experience

May 2023 - Jun 2023

March 2022 - April 2022

Invigilator and Artist of an Art Exhibition

Staffordshire University | Stoke on Trent |

·    Myself along with the rest of my year and the year below curated the end of year exhibition "Omnia"

·    With such a broad spectrum of art styles it was mine and my colleges job to create a cohesive exhibition, this required communication and team work across 50+ people.

·    This exhibition was very time demanding, with not a lot of time to create pieces there was a real push for commitment and dedication.

·    As a curator when the exhibit was open to the public is was my job to take viewers round the exhibit explaining the direction behind each piece, this required a lot of research but helped me build the skill of rehearsing and successfully delivering multiple tours.

Assisting the curation of an Art Exhibition

Staffordshire University | Stoke on Trent |

·    I had volunteered to help with the setup of the Degree show "Incremental Shift"

·    My job was to help paint walls across the campus multiple colours according to the artists direction

·    The moving and mounting of art work which required the upmost amount of care

·    Overall tidiness of the exhibit as it was to be open to the public

·    This experience lasted just under a month, and was day in and day out of holiday time dedicated to the exhibit.

Tattoo studio assistant

Studio 42 | Burntwood |

·    The role as an assistant at Studio 42 was an unpaid job with the exchange of watching and learning techniques of tattoo artists

·    In this position I would tidy the studio and equipment which is a meticulous job as needles and the tattoo gun had to be carefully cleaned and often disinfected.
